
Dr. Othello O. Caturan is a missionary surgeon–pastor serving under the auspices of the Lord Jesus Christ Bible and Gospel Churches in New Jersey, New York, and the Philippines. He is the founding President of Lord Jesus Christ International Missions Foundation, Inc. (New Jersey) and previously served as the founding President of The Fellowship of the Great Commission of Fundamental Bible and Gospel Churches in the Philippines. He currently serves as President of Lord Jesus Christ Bible Gospel Medical Missions for Global Outreach to the Poor.
Dr. Caturan is married to Felinda “Leni” Toribio Caturan, a retired nurse and long-time missionary partner in the Lord’s work. They are blessed with their children: Stephen Paul Caturan, Katrina Caturan Boutrus (married to Dr. Steve Boutrus), and Johannah Caturan Pornan (married to Pastor J.P. Pornan), with grandchildren Jonathan David and Josh Caturan Pornan.
He serves as a missionary with the Lord Jesus Christ Bible Gospel Church in Monroe, New Jersey; Lighthouse Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas; and Community Baptist Church in Garfield. Dr. Caturan is also a visiting lecturer in local Bible schools in Tagbilaran City, Danao City, Pasil (Cebu City), and other Bible schools connected with local churches throughout the Philippines.
Before moving to the United States in the summer of 1992, Dr. Caturan served in several key ministries in the Philippines, including Leyte Baptist Hospital in Hilongos, Leyte (1981–1982); helping pioneer Aklan Baptist Hospital in Caticlan, Malay, Aklan (1982–1986); slum missions with Jesus Saves Missions / International School of Missions in Pasil, Cebu City (1987–1989); and church planting efforts in Metro Manila (1989–1992). From 1996 to early 2015, he was involved in evangelistic Bible studies, discipleship, and church planting in Northern New Jersey and Orange County, New York, where three indigenous, independent, Bible-believing fundamental churches were established.
As a medical doctor, Dr. Caturan remains actively involved in Bible preaching, conferences, and overseas medical missions, primarily in the Philippines, with additional mission visits to Myanmar, Cambodia, Nepal, and Singapore. He has also been involved in establishing ministries in nursing homes, memory care, assisted living, and independent living facilities in San Antonio, Texas. Over the years, he has maintained a close connection with orphanages supported through the ministry.
Dr. and Mrs. Caturan currently reside at Kagawad Manlangit St., San Isidro, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Together, they maintain the Messiah Medical-Surgical Clinic, providing patient care through consultations and minor surgical procedures by appointment on Monday and Friday mornings. In addition, they lead ongoing Bible Gospel Medical-Surgical Missions Outreach in various parts of the Philippines, including Leyte, Bohol, Samar, Bukidnon, and Davao.
They are also committed to strengthening local churches through Continuing Bible Education, helping train church members and workers in individual Lord Jesus Christ Bible Gospel Churches in Bohol and independent Bible churches throughout the country. Dr. Caturan continues to assist churches as a missionary worker with The Lord Jesus Christ Bible Gospel Church in Goshen, New York, and with The Fellowship of the Great Commission of Fundamental Bible Churches in the Philippines, Inc.
At present, Dr. Caturan is devoting significant time to writing books and pamphlets that are shared with pastors, church workers, and Bible school students during annual mission trips. These trips include visits to churches, Bible school lectures, conference speaking, medical consultations, and surgical services in cooperation with local doctors, nurses, assistants, and volunteers—all in obedience to the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
